Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming community which is situated in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. This West Island, to those not familiar with it, is a large part that stretches from Lachine all the way west. The West Island is frequently referred to as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay at the island was infrequent. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. Her first ambition was to become a performer, but she literally outgrew the dancers. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. Once I had outgrown my males in my group, I decided to quit. Former dancers often turn to acting, and Brugel was not an exception. Drama teacher at her high school encouraged to Brugel into her direction that she required. Her teacher advised her to audition in the role of Anne for their school's annual production. She was the teacher who suggested that she pursue a role in the annual school production. She was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed at the age of 20 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's been in 60+ productions both with big screen and smaller ones. Her most significant fame when she was offered the role as Rita on the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and was only seen on occasion, was the only Canadian.
